HVAC/Refrigeration Technician

We’re looking for a full-time HVAC/Refigeration Technician to work with us in the Muskoka and Parry Sound region. 

What you’ll do

  • Install, operate, maintain and repair fixed and mobile refrigeration systems, HVAC systems and associated control equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications.
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
  • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools.
  • Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Start system, set up equipment as per manufacturer specifications and test for leaks using testing devices.
  • Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing, create reports and log all refrigerant changing.
  • Troubleshoot, then repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems.
  • May prepare work estimates for clients.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and high attention to detail. Able to efficiently make decisions related to your job and responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with colleagues, suppliers and customers. Proactive in maintaining professional relationships that reflect the company’s core values.
  • Effective communication, training, and leadership skills. Able to manage and oversee those under your authority while also demonstrating a personal continuous learning attitude.
  • Willing to travel to site appointments and work flexible hours.
  • Demonstrate high integrity and moral values.

Experience and qualifications

  • You must have a 318A or 318D refrigeration license or be in the third year of your apprenticeship.
  • A minimum of G3 Gas License.
  • Hold a valid G Class Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
